The Thread Zap II and the Thread Zap Ultra both have the same tip and strength. The tips heat up instantly to 700*F (371*C) when pressing the button and provide incredible accuracy when trying to finish and melt the ends of thread to prevent fraying. The tips cool down within seconds as well. These are perfect for burning/cutting our Maine Thread, Dunmore Thread, Ritza Tiger Thread, and Fil Au Chinois. More accurate than lighters especially when working close to other threads that you do not want to burn through. A great choice for leatherworking.
